RHA Food Drive

Overview

The GNLU LSC initiated the Food Drives in collaboration with the Robinhood Army to address the food scarcity by redistribution of unconsumed food from the university’s mess after breakfast and lunch. The drive was conceived by students who observed food waste amounting to large amounts on periodical basis in the mess and thus this initiative to preventive wastage of food while helping those needed was undertaken.

Objective

The primary objective was the drive can be divided into two-folds: first, to prevent food wastage by raising awareness among peers and second, to deploy resources to transport and redistribute unconsumed food. The initiative sought to ensure that no one in the vicinity of the university spends the day hungry due to unavailability of food.
